Chul Gi #1 "Iron Horse"
Chul Gi #1is executed in a horizontal linear pattern using horse stance designed for close quarter fighting against multiple opponents. The student must understand and exhibit the concept of “relax then STRIKE!” All power snaps together with the body during the last six inches of the move. Chul Gi #1 teaches us to perfect generating power from within, no longer relying on motion forward or from turning as we have been discussing. The power is in the hips, the hips must be engaged in every move even when rooted in a horse stance. There is constant energy in the center of the body, it’s there like a suspended revolving orb of electricity. The student at this level must begin to visualize and feel this energy orb from within. Learn to control this energy when striking draw from the orb and see the energy draw from the orb and then shoot like a bolt of lightening to the student’s striking point and through the target. This state of being is amazing, powerful, and will be achieved with a good teacher and training.
