Silla “Korean Dynasty”
Silla kata is an intense form from start to finish properly executed with the intensity of a tornado with no compromise to the five tenants of Korean Karate: Speed, Power, Balance, Focus and Control. Silla kata goes back to many of the original traits of the earlier katas including the ready position, as well as the execution, practicing the same series of moves on both the right side and the left. Explosive attacking up and down the middle of the “I” part of the form. But at the same time the form takes the student to a higher level by teaching explosive, multidimensional blocking and striking combinations and powerful kicking combinations throughout the entire form.
Silla also teaches the practitioner to move forward attacking, be patient, strike suddenly, then explode forward breaking and overwhelming all attacker’s.
